This pair represents the final stage of pattern development for my Air Jordan 1 Mule design.

Without an existing retail mule to work from, I developed the pattern around the Air Jordan 1 Low myself, removing the conventional heel and experimenting with how to keep the foot secure in an open-back construction.

The solution was a wide elastic strap across the instep, resulting in this final one-of-one pattern sample.

The design retains much of the recognisable Air Jordan 1 Low panel structure while converting the silhouette into an open-back mule.

Two contrasting navy leathers are paired with a wide navy elastic strap, while white piping defines the opening of the shoe.

Genuine white python leather Swooshes tie into the white midsole and provide the main contrast against the tonal navy upper.
