This pair started with the possibility of creating something that could eventually make its way to Eminem.

Rather than referencing his music directly, I wanted to build the concept around Mom’s Spaghetti — his Detroit restaurant and pasta brand — using its black, red and gold visual identity as the foundation for the shoe.

I chose the Air Jordan 3 after being told it was one of Eminem’s favourite Jordan silhouettes, which made it a natural starting point for the project.

The pair was completed as a one-off but never made its way to him, and has remained in my archive since.

The upper is constructed predominantly from black and red tumbled leather, with thin metallic gold accents running through the panel work to mirror the Mom’s Spaghetti branding.

Rather than covering the shoe in graphics, I kept the branding relatively restrained. Custom ‘Mom’s Spaghetti’ artwork sits subtly across the lateral side panels, while the heel carries the strongest reference to the concept.

Each heel tab is constructed from a particularly thick black leather and finished with custom vinyl artwork based around the Mom’s Spaghetti identity.
